Great Experience My husband and I went for the first time to Puerto Penasco in Jun 08, and we stayed at the Marina Pinacate Condos. We had an excellent experience; the room was very clean and well equipped, quiet and relaxing enviroment, good amenities, private parking area, and the staff was very helpful. We recommend this place. Just beware of the Sunset Cantina/Grill across from the condos; it\'s a complete rip-off.

Amazing It was my first stay in Rocky Point and Mexico all together, our condo was beautiful and I can't wait to go back and stay in these condos!!

july family vacation we stayed over the weekend, july is very humid, but the water is perfect. we especially liked the pool and the big blow up movie screen, that they set up one of the nights, and showed a disney movie. you do have to walk around a corner and down a ways to get to the beach, but it still was very nice. customer service was poor, definately speak spanish if you need anything. overall the trip was excellent, we will be back.

Very much like home I would like to say the room me and my fishing buddys stay in #318,was very nice and comforting.
Looking forward to comming back to stay in the same room.
Good room to stay in if you have kids,plenty of toys in the room.

june weekend as we have been to rocky point many times,I think the condo we had was one of the best.It was definetly one of the nicest with plenty of video games for the kids,and all the ammenities one would need.The only complaint was the lack of towels,due to a busy weekend.The staff needs to work on checking people in and out alot faster.Coming back in Nov. for bike week..

Good location The Marina is close to town, take Calle 13 down to first stop light turn right and go down about four blocks to intersection with main highway into Old Town.
Room was located on the beach and overall was fine. It needed some updating since some things like the guest bed was in need of repair, and the blinds in the master bedroom were damaged (two missing). Floor cleanliness on the tile floors needed better maintenance. Room 104 is located next to cleaning maintenace area and is noisy in the a.m.
Units that are for rent are good sized two bedroom units and are comfortable.
Major negative is trying enter or leave the resort with the Mayan Sun hawkers constantly harrasing you. They need to be regulated better and not solicit on or out in the streets or parking lots.
Enjoyed our stay and the beach walks were great. Saw dolphins, osprey, egrets out the front of the condo. Next visit will probably be further up Sandy Beach.

Good We went to Puerto Penasco the last week of August... super hot! We spent most of our time at the pool.
The room was nice enough. Clean and enough water pressure and hot water for decent showers. The A/C worked very well (thank goodness!!). The TV, however, left a lot to be desired. In the bedroom, the TV only had 2 stations, both Spanish. The TV in the living area was hooked to a cable which did not work. After some playing with it, my husband was able to get Fox News which was incredibly static-y and fuzzy. It was the only station on that TV. (which ended up to be a mixed blessing, because while we were there, Hurricane Katrina hit... good to know what was going on, but bad, too...) The owner of the condo,perhaps knowing the TV situation, supplied us with several VHS and DVD movies, though, and that helped a lot. I know, we were on vacation, who needs a TV? Well, a week is a long time, especially when it is too hot outside to do much. TV would have been nice.
The pool was incredibly clear and clean. Many tiles were missing. The chairs were broken. That does need to be improved.
Maid service was great. Towels were old and kind of yucky.
Check out was a breeze. It took just a minute or so.
It was super nice being within walking distance from many restaurants and shopping! We had just a little walk to the beach, which we did every morning. We saw three dolphins one day playing just a few feet from shore! (got a picture, too!)
This was our first visit to P.P. and we have already talked about returning, allbeit a different time of the year. We were satisfied with this stay, might stay at these condos again. Then again, we might want cable TV next time.

Maintenance Needed My first trip to Rocky Point and I was a little dissappointed in the condition of the unit we rented. It was a beautiful view, the size was very accomodating, however the sofa was pretty old and dirty (not fun when someone has to sleep on it), the main bathroom ceiling had some serious issues and it could really use a fresh coat of paint. The pool was HOT (same as the Hot Tub). I was very happy with the size of the unit and how well the A/C worked (considering the high heat and humidity). The beach access was a little inconvenient, but absolutely beautiful when there! I certainly will come back to Rocky Point, but whether I stay at the Marina Pinacate is questionable.

Good view, Great location, Needs some upkeep! The hotel was great - but needs a little renovation (the pool tiles are falling off and the pool water was HOT!). Some of the lounge chairs were also broken. The condo sizes are great - and the ocean view is awesome during sunrises and sunsets. This is my second time staying here and I have enjoyed both experiences. I will be back!

poor customer service The reservation process was awesome, very fast and trustworthy. The actual condo was great, beautiful view and accomodations. The service at the front desk was horrible. I may have to take my family, and business elsewhere. The checkin was unsatisfactory. There was only one person working the front desk and about 30 people waiting to check in. At check out my family was acused of stealing two towels and a bathroom rug. After paying over 450 dollars for a weekend why would I steal a dirty one dollar towel. The office staff acted very unprofessional and made a inappropiate scene. It is sad that these single events have led to a bad impression of the hotel and how it is operated.

Good to Go The accomodations were more than adequate for the price. Getting to the beach area was a little bit of a hassle, but the condo we had was basically acceptable and it was clean. It had the advertised amenities. While an older facility, it appeared to be maintained to an acceptable level. It is not to the accomodation level of a resort, but all in all it is an average acceptable short stay facility. All people that I came in contact with that were associated with our accomodations, were knowledgeable and very pleasant.

Reasonable, good location We've stayed at Marina twice. Both experiences were good, the condo's were clean and comfortable. Access to the beach is not convenient, and we did not like the blasting of fireworks during the night. But overall, the experience was good. It's not the best but it's not the worst.

Not a great Experience we were very dissappointed with our accomadations at your resort. no hot water for the 1st 24 hours, no cable for t.v., stove did not work properly, 3 out of 4 burners inoperative, sliding patio door would not open or close properly. you should really check the serviceability of the units before you rent them. WE WONT BE COMING BACK!!!!!!!

Pinacate Review Our stay at the Marina Pinacate Condos was great. The building itself is a little run down... but the people who helped us with keys, security, etc. were exceptional. One of our party had never been to Mexico, and had never seen the ocean/sea. She was thrilled with everthing in Puerto Penasco; the artistic talents of seemingly everyone was unexpected and delightful. We had picked up some seashells on one of the outer beaches, and brought them to our condo where we washed them. How unexpected it was to find some little "hitch hikers" inside some of the shells! We took these out to the night watchman who took them back to the shore for us. As we were preparing for our return to Phoenix, we noticed one of our tires was low and proceeded to pump it up with a hand (bicycle) pump. As soon as the gatekeeper saw us working on the tire he came over to help us and gave us information on where to go to get our tire repaired as well as helping us put air in the tire. We took a sunset cruise and the owner of the boat (The Intrepid) was very helpful with information regarding the area and the new beach condos going up.
It was with sadness that we left Puerto Penasco... and we'll be back!

Don't be fooled You don't have to pay tons of cash for the resorts along Sandy Beach. Marina Pinacate is right there on the side of Sandy Beach and the ocean view rooms are great. People don't hype up this resort enough. My family loved it and the pool is great for the kids.
